PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To effectively maintain, monitor, and support a Geographic Information System (GIS) for Carroll EMC.

MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

REQUIRES:

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in GIS, geography or another geoscience-related field.
  • Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS software suite and Autodesk AutoCAD software is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint is required.
  • A minimum of (1) year experience in GIS is required. Preferred experience with an electric utility.
  • Experience managing and completing post processing of GPS data as well as data collection preferred.
  • Experience with Futura GIS is preferred.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of Cooperative’s equipment and materials, policies, procedures, RUS specifications, and National Electric Safety Code requirements for construction and maintenance of the electric distribution system.
  • Ability to perform all GIS/drafting functions with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass Carroll EMC’s employment entrance examination and drug screen.
